Bollywood star Shreyas Talpade has been implicated in a new fraud case involving a multi-crore chit fund scam in the Mahoba area of Uttar Pradesh. At the Srinagar police station, a case has been filed against him and fourteen other people. The accused allegedly worked for a business named The Loni Urban Multistate Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society Limited, which enticed villages with the promise of large investment returns.

Fraud Allegations

The business defrauded residents of large quantities of money by promising that their investments would double quickly. However, the company’s representatives allegedly ceased operations and vanished with the money when legal scrutiny mounted. According to reports, the scam has been active in the Mahoba neighbourhood for more than ten years. The magnitude of the fraud is currently being investigated by authorities.

Shreyas Talpade has already been connected to claims of financial wrongdoing. He and legendary actor Alok Nath were charged with fraud in February after allegedly cheating investors out of Rs. 9 crore in Lucknow. The Gomti Nagar Police Station received that case. Along with a number of other people, both actors were also connected to a multi-level marketing fraud case in Sonipat, Haryana.

Following reports that he was implicated in a multi-crore chit fund fraud, actor Shreyas Talpade and his team released an official statement. Shreyas asserts that the reports are utterly untrue and unfounded.

In a statement posted to Instagram, the actor and his crew wrote, “It is really regrettable that in the modern world, a person’s hard-earned reputation seems to be susceptible to unwarranted tarnishing by baseless rumors. There is absolutely no truth, no foundation, and no merit to the recent accusations that Mr. Shreyas Talpade was involved in fraud or misbehavior. “As a public figure, Mr. Talpade, like many other celebrities, is regularly invited to various corporate and annual events, which he attends as and when possible,” the statement continued. It goes without saying that Mr. Talpade has nothing to do with any of the reported or circulating fraudulent or illegal activities.

“We urge everyone to verify facts before spreading misinformation and request that Mr. Talpade’s name be kept away from these baseless rumors,” the statement said, concluding with a call to honesty and professionalism for Shreyas. Mr. Talpade abides by the law and is dedicated to upholding the greatest standards of honesty, professionalism, and integrity in all of his undertakings.
